Terms of Service

Last updated: March 11, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Who Hears mobile application or website (whohears.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

Who Hears is a music discovery platform that lets you create a "Taste Card" from your YouTube playlists, compare your music taste with other users, and discover new music through a personalized feed. The service is provided "as is" and may change over time.

3. Account Registration

  • You must sign in using Google, Apple, or email to use the app
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • You must provide accurate information during registration
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the service
  • One account per person; duplicate accounts may be removed

4. YouTube API Usage

Who Hears accesses your YouTube data through YouTube API Services. By using this feature, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

We only access your playlists in read-only mode. We do not modify, upload, or delete any content on your YouTube account.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Impersonate other users or create misleading profiles
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or private data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated tools to scrape or collect data from the service
  • Upload or share offensive, harmful, or inappropriate content

6. Your Content

Your taste card, profile information, and comparison data remain yours. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to display and process this data as needed to provide the service (e.g., showing your card to other users, calculating overlaps).

7. Credits & Discovery System

The app includes a daily credits system for discovering tracks and collecting gems. Free credits reset daily. Any purchased credits persist until used. We reserve the right to modify the credits system with reasonable notice.

8. Intellectual Property

The Who Hears app, website, brand, and underlying technology are owned by us. Music content displayed in the app (artist names, track titles, video thumbnails) belongs to their respective rights holders and is accessed through YouTube API Services.

9. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the app's profile settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Music taste analysis and rarity scores are for entertainment purposes and are based on algorithmic calculations that may not perfectly reflect your actual music preferences.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Who Hears shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or by email.
